The Watertown Library flooring is completed~!
”Fast and efficient” is the comment made about the Y’s Way installers by one of the library staff , “We really had to keep moving to stay ahead of them with removing the shelving and books!”
From a personal perspective, I am happy the job is done, so I was able to return my books and check out new ones. If you get the chance, stop by the library and check out our work!
Watertown Public Library Flooring Project
Y’s Way Flooring was happy to be awarded the Watertown Public Library flooring project competitive bid. Y’s Way Flooring is tearing out the old (very old) carpet from the library and installing new carpet within an aggressive two week project window. Fast, professional flooring service is our forte’! We started the project on Monday, August 8, 2011 and are due to complete both floors by August 19, 2011.
Luckily for library users, the library will be all put back together and open for business on August 22, 2011. The second floor is due to be rearranged, I am eager to see what they do!
New Store Opening!!
Y’s Way Flooring employees are really excited about our new store opening in Oconomowoc, WI! It is in the perfect location, right next to Radtke’s TV & Appliance and JP Kitchen Studio at 690 E. Wisconsin Ave.

Our Oconomowoc number is 262-354-0641. Our last renovation inspection should take place on Tuesday morning, 4-12, then we’ll open the doors! Stop on by and say hello, we’ll be glad to see you.

Happy Holidays!
I hope everyone one of you has a happy, healthy, safe, and wonderful holiday season! I look forward to a good, no, GREAT year to come, and wish the same for all of you!
Tips and Tricks for tough carpet stains
Some of the best parts of holidays are getting together with friends and family, and all the wonderful food! People break out the best family recipes and everyone just digs in! Unfortunately, some of that food ends up on the floor and cranberries can be…RED!
We have several great carpet cleaning solutions here at Y’s Way Flooring, but a fast first response is best. So here are a couple of home remedies to get the stain out!
I already talked about water soluble stains on our Facebook page (Y’s Way Flooring, of course) so here I suggest a few solutions for Oil Based stains. First, I recommend Shaw Floors R2x carpet cleaning spray. It is backed by the Good Housekeeping Seal, the Woolsafe Certificate of Accreditation and the Rug Institute’s (CRI) Seal of Approval.
Oil based stains cover materials such as butter, cosmetics, crayon, food grease, lipstick, permanent Ink (don’t ask me, I didn’t know ink has a greasy element!), dry latex paint or shoe polish. For the best success, take steps to remove the stain immediately. Blot with white paper towels (avoid color patterned paper) until no color comes up into the towels, then follow the instructions on the back of the R2x spray bottle.
If you don’t have any R2x cleaner handy, and we are closed (it happens, rare, but it happens!) you can apply Carbona or Energine oil or grease spot remover to the paper towel, not directly to the carpet, and blot up the stain. Please DO wear gloves during cleaning as the solvents may irritate your skin. Please, ensure there is adequate ventilation when using this solution, and do not use either spot remover near flame as it is highly flammable!
Regardless of which cleaning method used, once the stain is gone, pile the plain paper towels on the spot and weight down to absorb any remaining moisture.
Have a safe and happy Holiday!
